VHCA's Winter Legislative Conference
The 2007 VHCA Winter Legislative Conference, Reshaping the Future of Long Term Care, is scheduled for February 13-14, 2007 at the Omni Richmond Hotel. This Conference brings VHCA members together in the State Capitol to focus on important legislative and policy issues facing long term care providers today. Attendees will hear updates on Virginia’s 2007 General Assembly legislative agenda as well as what can be anticipated when the 110th Congress convenes in Washington with a new agenda for long term care. Time has been set aside again at the Conference on Tuesday morning to visit legislators. VHCA members will have the chance to talk to their Senators and Delegates about long term care issues during a visit to the General Assembly and at the evening legislative reception. Make your appointments now to meet with your Delegate and Senator. Transportation will be provided to and from the Capitol. Your voice is critical as we debate the future of Virginia’s core long term care services. The two-day conference will feature “up-to-the minute” information on the State Budget and legislative measures that have implications for nursing and assisted living facilities. Presenters will share their insights on budget proposals, legislative initiatives, Medicaid transformation and efforts to integrate acute and long term care. Whether you are interested in learning more about the legislative agenda in the 2007 General Assembly, hearing what to expect from the new Congress in Washington, or visiting the Capitol to meet face-to-face with your elected representatives, this conference has something for everyone.
