DMAS Announces 2007 Inflation Factor

On Thursday, April 26th, the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) announced that the 2007 Medicaid nursing facility inflator used to adjust both rates and ceilings is 3.4%.  This amount represents an approximate 21% reduction from the 2006 inflation factor of 4.3%.  VHCA has requested the supporting documents used by Global Insight to calculate the 2007 factor.  A large component of the update factor is derived from wage and benefit information provided by Virginia nursing facilities in January and February.  Please contact Hobart Harvey at 804.212.1695 or hobart.harvey@vhca.org if you have any questions.
