New this year - VHCA will now be offering its 45-hour course in the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) approved format of the Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) in order to assist participants that wish to pursue their national activity credential.  VHCA is responding to requests from individuals who are seeking national certification.  Participants who attend the entire program will receive 45-hours of credit towards the NCCAP Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) course.  This five-day program, scheduled for June 23 – 27, 2008, will provide comprehensive training in Documentation and Programming and is designed to specifically prepare activity personnel to work in nursing and assisted living facilities.  This course meets all federal and state requirements for Virginia activity professionals.  Upon completion, participants will receive certificates showing they are qualified to work as activity professionals in long term care facilities.  Program brochures and registration forms will be mailed and posted on www.vhca.org  in the spring.
