CMS Updates RAI Manual

This month the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued an update involving revisions to MDS Section I-Disease Diagnoses, K-Oral/Nutritional problems, L-oral/Dental Status, and M-Skin Conditions. CMS periodically provides updates to the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) Manual, based on issues relating to interpretation of data elements and clarification in coding. Updates are often based on issues identified by providers and state RAI Coordinators.
