Winter Legislative Conference a Great Success!

Thanks to the many members whose activity departments contributed to the Storybook project.  This year was a big success with 33 facilities participating in the project.  Storybooks were distributed to all 140 legislators.  Members were asked to include a picture of a Medicaid sponsored resident and a brief life history as an effective and simple way to put a human face on Medicaid.  The Storybooks were well received by Legislators who were able to see the people who depend on adequate Medicaid funding for the delivery of high quality long term care services.  VHCA held a drawing at the Winter Legislative Conference with prizes to facilities that put their heart and creative talents into this effort.  Each facility had their name entered into a drawing for each Storybood made. 

The winners were:

1st place - Children's Hospital Transitional Care Unit, Richmond
2nd place - Trinity Mission of Farmville
3rd place - Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin
