
Pressure Ulcer Program Scheduled in April

A one-day program, Pressure Ulcer Care - The Power of Prevention and Early Detection, is scheduled for April 24 at the Williamsburg Marriott. Education is the key to a proactive pressure ulcer treatment program of prevention and timely, appropriate interventions. Understanding the mechanisms behind pressure ulcer formation, identifying at-risk and high-risk residents, and conducting thorough skin and risk assessments will assist in the development of a comprehensive care plan with consideration of all factors contributing to and affecting the ulcer and how it impacts the resident. This educational program has been developed in collaboration with American Medical Technologies, Inc. to assist health care providers in long term care facilities meet the challenges faced in preventing, detecting, and healing pressure ulcers.
