CMS Adds SFF Data to Nursing Home Compare

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has updated the list on Nursing Home Compare indicating whether a facility has, or has had, the Special Focus Facility (SFF) designation.  CMS is also providing general information about the SFF designation in an effort to better inform consumers. 

CMS also unveiled its 2008 Action Plan for Further Improvement of Nursing Home Quality.  This multi-year initiative is an effort to increase the information and consumer resources on the Medicare website; to improve the effectiveness of the annual nursing home survey process; to focus on the efforts of Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs) to enhance patient outcomes; and to continue to achieve quality improvements through Advancing Excellence in America 's Nursing Homes.  Join the other 181 facilities in Virginia participating in Advancing Excellence if you haven’t yet signed on.
