
Activity Management Program Scheduled in June

Facilities with staff in need of comprehensive training in documentation and programming specifically designed to prepare activity personnel to work in settings primarily serving persons 55 years and older are encourage to take advantage of Introduction to Activity Management, scheduled for June 23 – 27 in Richmond. This program is a five-day, 45-hour course sponsored exclusively by the Virginia Health Care Association to prepare individuals to meet the activity needs of residents. New this year - VHCA will offer its 45-hour course in the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) approved format of the Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) in order to assist participants who wish to pursue their national activity credential. Participants who attend the entire program will receive credit towards the NCCAP Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) course. For over 25 years the Virginia Health Care Association has offered the Activity Directors Course that meets Virginia and federal requirements for activity professionals in nursing and assisted living facilities. This dynamic, comprehensive program features at least 15 different presenters who collectively bring over 300 years of experience in their professional roles.
