House and Senate Committees Reject CMS Revisit User Fee
VHCA (7/10/2008)
The AHCA has reported to affiliates that the House and Senate Appropriations Committees rejected the Administration's proposed CMS revisit user fee. Both the House and Senate full committee reports do not include language that authorizes the Secretary to charge fees associated with the cost of conducting revisits of certain health care facilities. Although AHCA does not expect to see a final Labor, Health and Human Services and Education spending bill until March of 2009, this victory likely ensures that no fees will be charged between now and October of 2009. AHCA continues to work to ensure that the new administration's budget proposal will not include revisit user fees.
