Assisted Living Administrator Regulations Amended
VHCA (8/15/2008)
In a “fast track” action, the Board of Long-Term Care Administrators amended regulations to allow persons with one year of experience prior to application to be licensed as an Assisted Living Administrator based on passage of the national examination. The new amendment, that takes effect September 4, 2008, allows persons to have only one year of experience prior to application but will only be effective until January 2, 2009. The regulations currently in effect require persons to have at least two out of four years experience immediately preceding the effective date of the regulations in order to take the exam without completing an AIT program.
