Need Help Getting Connected To File Your MDS Via Broadband?
VHCA (8/15/2008)
AHCA's quick survey of facility readiness to transmit MDS data to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) via broadband connection found that a majority of facilities (86.2 percent) are ready for the switchover from dial-up transmission as early as September 1, 2008. The remaining 13.8 percent are not yet connected, in most cases because of technical problems. To help providers get connected, we have the following CMS Help Desk numbers you can call to ask or fax your questions: - MDCN Help Desk will help with connectivity issues and using the AT&T software tool. To contact them, call 800-905-2069 or FAX questions to: 803-935-0194.
- IRF/Swing/QTSO Help Desk will help with the MDS submission process and help with the freeware software: Haven, Raven, Raven SB, and IRVEN. To contact them, please call 888-477-7876 or FAX questions to: 888-477-7871.
- Appendix B of this link provides state level contact numbers and email addresses to help with connectivity issues.
September 1st is the earliest date that the switchover could take effect, but CMS reports that this is not a definite date at this time.
