Beaufont Towers to Host Inventor of "Paro" Robotic Seal

Beaufont Towers Retirement & Assisted Living is extending an invitation to our members to meet the inventor of the” Paro” Robotic Therapy Seal, Dr. Takanori Shibata, at a press conference  on January 16th 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Azalea Room at The Towers, 7015 Carnation Street, Richmond, VA 23225. 

Beaufont Towers learned about “Paro” at the VCAL’s Annual Assisted Living Symposium when Vinson Hall Retirement Community presented a program on “Paro”, that has helped their facility keep a vision of creating a better future for residents through technology and research application.  According to Vinson Hall, the little robot proved to be of benefit to many residents and is used daily to elicit a smile, communication, and lift spirits.  Please RSVP by January 12th to Kim Fauerbach at: 804.320.1412 if you plan to attend.
