VCAL ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR

Andrew Byrd, Administrator of Caton Merchant House in Manassas, was named the Virginia Center for Assisted Living's (VCAL) 2003 Administrator of the Year at the VHCAs Annual Awards Banquet at the Marriott Hotel in Richmond on September 17.  He was honored by his peers in recognition of his years of dedication and creative service to the 78 residents of Caton Merchant House.  

Andrew has been at Caton Merchant House for three years, where he has successfully reduced staff turnover for the past two years while maintaining a 94% occupancy.   Rate.  Andrew serves as a Board Member of the Northern Virginia Health Systems Agency.  He is licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator and Preceptor in Virginia, Delaware and Ohio.  Before coming to Caton Merchant House, he was affiliated with Genesis Eldercare in Virginia and Delaware.  Since moving to Virginia he has been an active VCAL participant.  The award was presented by Robert DeMaria, VCAL Chairman and member of the VHCA Board of Directors.
