WOODIE APPOINTED TO NCAL BOARD

Susan P. Woodie, Vice President of Assisted Living at Richfield Retirement Community, has been appointed to the NCAL Board of Directors to represent Region XII which encompasses Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina.  She brings to the board extensive experience in operations management, resident and family relations, admissions, quality assurance, program development, marketing and strategic planning, new construction, budgeting, cost-control, purchasing, and personnel staffing and training.  Susan has played a major role in the development of new facilities and corporate-wide programs at Richfield where she has had  responsibility for management of Assisted Living Programs in three facilities on the Richfield campus totaling 250 beds.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 1990. 

In 1996, Susan was honored as the associations Assisted Living Administrator of the Year, in recognition of her active participation with VCAL.  During her years of involvement with VCAL,  she has provided key input into committee deliberations moving the association forward.  In addition, she played a key role as a representative of VCAL on the Department of Social Services (DSS) Advisory Committee that developed the most recent version of state regulations for assisted living in Virginia.  She is a member of the Alzheimers Association and Mental Health Association.  VCAL members join in congratulating Susan Woodie on her appointment to the national board which will set policy and direction for the future of NCALs membership.
