NCAL to Present at Conference

Lyn Bentley, Senior Policy Director for NCAL, will co-present at the Fire-Rescue International, the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) conference in August, on recommendations to improve long term care resident safety and staff response to emergency situations.  The recommendations were developed at the April meeting of IAFC representatives and long term care professionals.  Meeting participants divided into four work groups covering education, training, and staffing; engineering and technology; legislation and codes; and emergency response resulting in development of up to five recommendations each.  Bentley organized the long term care professions participation in the April meeting and will be working with IAFC on the project in the future.
