WHITE HOUSE CONFERENCE ON AGING

Held every 10 years, the White House Conference on Aging is scheduled for October 23-26, 2005 in Washington, D.C., and is charged with developing recommendations to guide the legislative and executive branches of government on how to better serve older Americans.

In addition to the main conference, there will be other conference-designated events.  AHCA and NCAL have been asked to help develop and coordinate one such event - a mini conference focused exclusively on long term care issues. With planning help from insurer and caregiver organizations, this mini-conference will cover important policy issues related to the entire spectrum of long term care, including assisted living.  NCAL will keep members apprised of the plans for the mini-conference. Additional information about the conference is available online at www.whcoa.gov.
